August 26, 2022 The Press Democrat ran an article that the Santa Rosa restaurant The Villa quietly closed after 46 years. I feel so fortunate that I was there January 9th – watched the end of the 49’er game and had dinner in the beautiful dining room. At that time, I gave the owner, Gaspare Bernardo, one of my calendars. I hope this month, he is enjoying my view of his restaurant. It brings back so many memories of Easter Brunches, Thanksgiving Dinners and sitting with friends in those great big booths. The architecture was stunning so I painted this 12″x 12″ canvas and titled it “The Villa”. It is featured in my calendar for the month of September. I artistically added the upper floor with the piano. It will be on display at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York City October 8 – December 31, 2022.
