EDDIE (Tribute Painting to Eddie Van Halen 1955-2020)

Eddie Van Halen made this guitar. He made many guitars but this special one is called the Frankenstrat. It was on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC before he donated it to the Hard Rock Cafe. It’s valued at over $100,000+. Eddie passed last October and I felt compelled to paint his guitar. I saw Van Halen in Sacramento in 2008 with David Lee Roth as lead vocalist. It was AWESOME! If you look in the lower right, that is me with “heart hands”. “EDDIE” (acrylic, 36″x24″) and my new “Music Series” pieces will be on display at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery – Chelsea Art District in New York City. The opening Gala Champagne & “Life is a Cabaret!” Soiree is Saturday, October 9th from 2pm-4pm. Art Collectors are anxiously awaiting this museum-caliber Fall Exhibition which will run through December 2021.

We just received our copy of “Eddie” and we love it!! It is even more impressive in my hands and soon will be hanging where we can enjoy seeing it everyday. Top notch quality all the way around, right up to the numbered COA! You have great inspiration for your original paintings, Lori, and this is a perfect way to remember one of the greatest guitarist.
